This isn't the first time the Pentagon has lost track of trillions—back in 2022, they misplaced 61% of $3.5 trillion! Economists predict it could take
In a move that’s shaking Washington, former U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) to dig into the Pentagon’s massive $824 billion budget. After failing seven consecutive audits, the Defense Department has become a black hole for taxpayer money, unable to explain 63% of its $3.8 trillion in assets for 2024, as reported by Cryptopolitan.
This isn't the first time the Pentagon has lost track of trillions—back in 2022, they misplaced 61% of $3.5 trillion! Economists predict it could take until 2031 to clean up this financial disaster. But with government spending under intense scrutiny, Trump is deploying Musk’s elite team to put an end to the madness.
Elon’s Team Sparks Political Firestorm
The D.O.G.E. team has already made waves, launching audits on the Department of Energy, USAID, and the Education Department. But not everyone is thrilled—especially Democrats.
One of Musk’s staffers, 23-year-old ex-SpaceX intern Luke Farritor, was given access to government IT systems, including Microsoft 365 and sensitive emails, despite fierce objections from security officials. Treasury lawyers were furious, but Secretary Chris Wright brushed off concerns, saying, “They’re just young consultants improving efficiency.”
However, controversy exploded when another D.O.G.E. staffer, 25-year-old Marko Elez, resigned after The Wall Street Journal exposed him for running a racist social media account. Shockingly, Elez had just been approved for access to the Treasury Department’s payment system, which processes trillions in federal transactions. His access was revoked following a court ruling that barred Musk from interfering with Treasury operations.
Elon Musk vs. The Democrats – The Battle Heats Up!
Democrats are now doubling down on Musk, demanding answers. Senator Ron Wyden has called for a full investigation, claiming that Treasury officials misled Congress by downplaying how much access D.O.G.E. staffers really had. Reports now confirm that Elez had “read-write” access, meaning he could alter financial data—a direct contradiction to the department’s previous claims.
Wyden is also questioning whether proper security checks were conducted before granting these young operatives access to critical government systems. If Treasury officials failed to vet Elez properly, it could mean a major breach in national security.
Meanwhile, Musk isn’t backing down. He took the fight to X (formerly Twitter), launching a massive public poll asking users if Elez should return to the D.O.G.E. team. Out of 385,247 votes, a staggering 78% voted “Yes”, further fueling the controversy.
Trump, never one to shy away from a fight, sided with his tech billionaire ally, saying, “If the Vice President supports him, I support him.”
🔥 Is Musk’s team fixing government inefficiency, or is this a dangerous experiment?
🔥 Is the Pentagon’s financial black hole finally about to be exposed?
🔥 Will Democrats succeed in their war against Musk’s growing influence?
One thing is clear—this battle is FAR from over!
